ABOUT PARAMESH

Ari “Paramesh” Gonzalez is a yoga and meditation teacher, educator, writer, former podcast host, and inter-faith chaplain. He holds a Master's degree in Contemplative Religion with Sanskrit Language from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado USA. He is also a Yoga Alliance registered teacher and Continuing Education provider. He has taught in yoga studios, retreats, hospitals, businesses, addiction treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals, and county jail. He has also worked as a hospital and hospice chaplain. 

 

Paramesh was initiated into the Yoga-Vedānta-Tantra tradition in 2002 by his Guru, Sri Mātā Amritānandamayi Devi, affectionately known as Amma. Since meeting Amma he has devoted his life to the spiritual path, as taught and exemplified by her. He lives part time in Amma’s main ashram in Amritapuri, Kerala, India, and has toured with Amma extensively throughout the world.

 

Between 2019 & 2020 Paramesh published 9 episodes of The Path of Yoga podcast available on Spotify.

 

Paramesh teaches an integrated yoga practice incorporating prānāyāma, āsana, and meditation. He teaches breath based Hatha yoga that seamlessly uses the breath and body to lead one easily inwards into deep meditation practice. He also teaches Kundalini and Tantric Yoga practices.

 

Paramesh also works with mantras and sacred Sanskrit and incorporates this into his classes when appropriate. He has led satsangs including giving spiritual talks and leading bhajans and kirtan.
